On 7th May 2011, The Ministry of Labour in association with Fujairah International Marine Club organized a fishing competition for the locals. The event which started at 9:00 am as the boats sailed from the marine after giving final instructions, guidelines, and inspection. The loaded boats were back at 5:00pm to the marine club for weighting at the weigh station. First winner recieved a Dhs10,000 cheque, second winner recieved Dhs7,000, third winner Dhs5,000.
